Siskiyou - Nervous Album Description

While the guarantee of another collection from West Coast-based people experimenters Siskiyou has been floating since 2013, the band have now affirmed that the record will be out one year from now. Anxious terrains through Constellation Records on January 20.

As beforehand reported, recording sessions occurred at Vancouver's Afterlife Studio with maker/engineer Leon Taheny (Owen Pallett/Final Fantasy, Dusted, Austra), after a lyricist's residency guitarist/vocalist Colin Huebert attempted in Dawson, YK. Huebert started to fight a "genuine internal ear condition" amid this time, with a press discharge clarifying this lead to the craftsman "thinking about serious nervousness and an unwelcome interiority, caused by hyperacusis and a house that felt completely spooky."

Hone sessions with whatever remains of Siskiyou were later performed at low volumes, which is said to have discovered the band "creating new sonic palettes." Described as guiding Siskiyou into "chamber-pop region," the collection takes impact from PJ Harvey and Tindersticks. Notwithstanding Huebert and bandmates Erik Arnesen, Peter Carruthers and Shaunn Watt, Nervous gimmicks visitor exhibitions from any semblance of Colin Stetson, Owen Pallett, JP Carter (Fond of Tigers, Dan Mangan, Destroyer) and then some.

Down underneath, you'll discover a stream of the Nervous cut "Coward," which gimmicks blasting reinforcements from the St. James Music Academy Senior Choir and a skronked sax solo from Stetson. Up above, you'll see artist Michael Drebert's inky spread workmanship, which will be supplemented by an arrangement of 12x12 prints in the grand LP form of the set.
