Inside the last few years, many veteran acts have revealed records made up totally to cover songs. Peter Gabriel undertaken their favourite groups with Scratch My Back; Iggy Pop took on the discographies of Gainsbourg and Piaf with Après; and, more freshly, Neil Young culled his own music previous with A Letter Home.

Now, English troubadour and previous Soft Boys singer Robyn Hitchcock adds his title to the list, although having a small perspective. Because of out August 26th via Yep Roc, The Man Upstairs functions “brand new genuine ones, vintage addresses, and small recognized treasures,” relating to a pr release. To generate this excellent followup to 2013’s Love from London, Hitchcock joined with famous people manufacturer Joe Boyd (Nick Drake, Fairport Convention).
